They took it
May 16, 2008I’m listening to a radio show where people who’ve had items stolen from their car are calling in.
Everyone says “they.”
“They took it,” “they broke into my car,” “they stole my limited edition New Kids on the Block LP.”
I’d like to think they–the callers–were just unsure of the thief’s gender. Or they (the callers) assumed it was a group of thieves after some old school Donnie Wahlberg.
But I really don’t think it’s what they mean.
It kind of reminds me of Carlin’s bit about language.
